- This morning I tweeted a rather lame joke that would only be likely to appeal to people who have similar taste in books to myself and who are used to UK English usage.
It was -
'Just downloading the Barchester Chronicles. I love how it is so easy to find a Trollope on the internet.'
If you don't get it, the Barchester Chronicles are a series of books by the Victorian novelist Trollope, and a trollope is an old fashioned word for an easy woman.
About an hour later I got a reply.
'I recommend seedyinternetpickupservice.com , where you can compare the top 5 online dating services. All include free trial'
Somehow, not quite in keeping with the spirit of my original post.
I said something about MRR which was a punk magazine in the United States and suddenly I have some twat following me because MRR also means "master resale rights"
God forbid I say anything about being a vegetarian or 10 people try to sell me their veggie cook books.
When I make jokes about the idiotic PRC government CCTV I suddenly have physical security nuts following me... I realize CCTV [ cameras on in every shop in the UK ] is a big issue but I would think the tards could just read what I wrote before following me.
Who know's what's next.
Luckily raving about The Chasers every over day did not get me a bunch of AAA flunkies.
I suppose it's all bots at this point.
Seems I got more spam followers after adding myself to wefollow.
Don't forget all the sailing enthusiasts we all got following us after mentioning 2 schooners.

At least that was funny.
good point!
I got a couple non-spam-ladies after tweeting I almost fell off the startrac [ http://www.startracusa.com/s-6-cross-trainers.aspx ] during one of the episodes and immediate smile from a "hot Persian girl"

Could be worse.
In fact I must do that more often.
LOL yeah the sailors... I am still subscribed to the guy that takes photos of the racing... awesome stuff really but a schooner it aint :P
Second that joke is pretty obscure... I dunno if you should be congratulating that bot or getting scared that they can work that shit out!
Its obscure in the sense that only a minority of English speakers would be aware of that meaning of trollope, but if they had simply loaded up words from a thesaurus they would pick it up.
To be fair I only know "trollop" from the KommunityFK song
Even for you Eric that is even more obscure...

I was wondering how long it would take someone to come up with that.
