Just purchased a 2.93 Ghz 24" iMac... Would enjoy a Drobo, but I think I'll be looking for something cheaper in a NAS drive instead.

Maybe I can save up enough to find another girlfriend? ... Nah!

(Oh, and paying my mortgage.)

Nothing really.... I wouldn't say no to one of the revised MacBooks or an iPhone 3GS, but I'm not about to go and buy one in the near future as they aren't leaps and bounds ahead of what I've already got. Unusually there isn't really a piece of technology that I really need right now. I might replace my TV computer at some stage but it's not urgent.

Would love to upgrade my monitors to widescreen 22 or 24 inch.. that is though a double hit as I use dual screens and swear I'll never go back... that is at the top of my list I think.

Probably need to think about upgrading the PC at some stage in the next 12 months

Would also love to upgrade my mixer and go digital with that.

New mic and boom stand - just upgrades :)

Netbook - totally personal "want" I don't need it... so much

Portable digital recorder, a good one

Digital HD Video camera

New still digital camera

Fans for the master bedroom... Just in case the wife sees this list :)

The possibility I might need/want a laptop for uni...

"Fans for the master bedroom"

Same here... I usually look at them until she gets mad then the project gets delayed again.

;-)

I'm not really saving up for anything now. I lost interest in the last mobile I wanted and it looks like android 2.0 is still a long way way.

I am without desire for new toys and I dislike the feeling.

:-(

Flights to Australia at Xmas.  Bloody expensive as there are 4 of us now.  Going to be visiting Melbourne and Brisbane!  Maybe Sydney.

Oh lucky you! Well, I'm saving up for my ticket as well, though when I'll get to use it is wholly in the hands of the Department of Immigrations.

It saddens me to miss the July AGP meet up. I hope there's a lot more in the future.

The lowest I've seen tickets from Amsterdam to Sydney for was about 900 euros with Virgin Atlantic. I hope that kind of bargain remains.

My last big purchase was a Wacom tablet and it was a really nice toy to invest in. It put the fun back into my cartooning hobby.

Which Wacom did you get?

I got the A5 Intuos one: http://www.wacom.eu/index2.asp?pid=245&lang=en

I had tried the smallest first generation Graphire at my last employer, but that was less that useful. I had concluded back then that it was just me being unable to adjust to working left-handed again, but apparently my boss was just too cheap.

angel

This one works wonderfully.

I am not saving up for these but I was in Staples (stationary shop here in the USA) and I noticed that they still sell floppy disks......

1. I can't believe that they still sell them
2. I can't believe that they sell them in boxes of 50
3. Who on earth still uses floppy disks
4. I checked another online retailer and they have 1TB SATA drives for $79.99 usd
5. That is equivalent to a lot of floppy disks

@wadehindell I can't believe any of that either.

Me, I'm saving up for a few things:

1. A new system.  Core i7 desktop, 12 GB memory, 4x1TB hard disks
2. A new 22" monitor to go with said system (to match the 22 I've already got)

On the wish list, but not in the short term
3. Re-do the house for whole-home automation
4. Cooled server-closet :D

What I am surprised at is the cost of those floppies... Geeze!

I've just put in for $1500 dollar education rebate. Once received, I might a netbook for the wife - something small and light.  Can claim on it next financial year.

I hope 22.99 is for a pallet of floppies! They are still used to archiving of regular tiny backup files, but not at that price!

Next on my list is a Quad Core Desktop with 12GB of RAM. devil

Guess I'm only saving up for a condo now. A shame 250K only gets me a tin roofed cardboard box in shantytown.

I'm saving for a cool Android device but so far the Hero is not really a flagship device, despite the flagship price.

Does Australia still give a fee for settling?

Maybe someone can pay me to kick sol trujillo in the ass?

Looks like I'll never get that Samsung i8910 I wanted.

Don't make me tell you that my sucky streethouse in a suburb without even a garden cost me A$417400. And that's the cheapest I could find.

And no... my standard of living is not higher. Only my bank-manager's is. :P

What I am saving up for? Well:

Not cheap... so worth it.

Now is anyone looking for an overpriced green house in Europe? devil
