I don't know if anyone else has come across this but for the last 2 days webcentral has had a MAJOR issue with there pop3 email servers. ie. no-one that I know is getting any emails through their webcentral accounts. It seems their IBM NAS has gone blip again. It was only 4 weeks ago that this IBM system started playing up and caused web sites to die. After that was "fixed" surely the first thing to do would be to put in some sort of redundancy system.

For those that don't know Webcentral is one of Australia's biggest web-hosting, email domain service providers. They charge an arm and a leg and yet when it comes to service provide very little.
When there pop3 went POP they could have at least admitted it. instead they told anyone who rang through in the first 8 hours that their system was fine and the customer should check their system. I had 5 phone calls from various clients demanding to know why I had allowed their email system to die.

Once this is all setteled I think I might start to move my clients to another system. I understand that down times happen. I don't understand passing the buck when the buck is quite obviously stuck up their non sun shining region

Thanks I needed that

Can't say that I either use them or have heard anything. I understand why the Aussie clients want a local solution - but any clients that I have here I have actually steered (successfully) away from Aussie hosts and servers for most of the reasons you have stated.

If I hear anything I'll let you know. Anyone else had issues?
