Do you see these on billboards/roadside signage, malls or transit stops?
Have you ever tried to follow a URL or seen anyone photographing these?

Yep, I've done it heaps, and with NeoReader for the iPhone its a kick ass way to grab info on the run.
QR Codes rock.
The other cool method is that you can use them on the web to copyright your images / blog without being too obtrusive.
It doesn't matter if they don't recognize the QRcodes on your images, thats because if someone finds an online image of yours and decides to blatantly rip it off you can always show the original with the QR intact and prove its yours.
Another good way to protect images is to use a stenography program that ads your copyright as hex into your image in the first 128 bytes of the file.
That way even if they cut the code off your image, you can then have the image checked and DA DA! there is your website/name/email.
I must try NeoReader. I have iDecode which has never worked for me. I wonder how long it will be until these are more common in Aus. I've heard that in Japan they are everywhere, even on business cards. :)
Same Tom - I have not seen them much in Oz and am keen to have a crack at using them. Must see if there is an iPhone app for them.
I have posted a QR to the R&D blog at work. It's a link to the post.
Is that meta?
That was the name of my post. No really.
I've been using timed screenshots and cropping them to get the QR generated from the FF extension I mentioned above.
I've also been able to change my google avatar to a QR link to my blogspot ranting and raving.
What took me so long?
Dave a good and free QR barcode reader is ... Barcode
regravity - if you're into stenography and the internet, go and grab a book called "pattern recognition" by william gibson.
Thanks Frank I'll check it out :)
If anyone's interested in an alternative to Kaywa - I recently went live with a dormant project of mine at http://qrbox.com/
It's quite simple at the moment, but vcard and other functionality coming soon (any suggestions welcome).
Cheers

Thanks John, I have checked it out and BTW I like your colour scheme better
Thanks dave :)
out of curiosity - is there anything you'd like to see on this sort of site? I'm looking for any relevant input.
Cheers
John
Hey John! We actually looked at QR Box on the next AGP :) I think I made a few suggestions :) All Good though!!
Awesome! - huge thanks guys...
I'll be giving #21 a listen in the car tomorrow morning so will be sure to heed your advice ;)

Well done on my surname ;) ... yeah you got it right in the end, and yep I had a good laugh!
Thanks for the comments - I've got some other (hopefully better) ideas as far as vcard implementation goes, but will look at making the input larger for URLs and the like.
Cheers
John
