This weeks AGP is out and ready for your listening pleasure.

Special this week. We interview Chopper Newt from Lizards from Afar. This band is pretty unique in regards to how they compose, edit and release their music. Not only that Chris is a certified geek.

While we don't normally cover bands and their music so much, I think you'll appreciate why we were interested in the Lizards and the way they do things.

We had a great time. I would thank Chris and the Lizards from Afar for their time and their music.

Wow. I'm not sure if I have even finished 008. Grandma's getting thingy about the amount of net that I've used, so I'll download it on off peak. Looking forward to it as always.

Oh and I got a friend of mine to listen to AGP for the first time and he loved it. I think we have another subscriber. :)

Nice work. Massive thanks for getting another listener, every one counts and it really helps when you let your mates know!

Chris: Is the movie Starcrash, with David Hasselhoff? We should ask Alwyn, since he's the Hasselhoff Fan Club president. He finds him dreamy.

From a geek standpoint, to try to salvage some of Chris' issues: I use Firefox 3.0, though I’ve got IE 6 and up installed on my machines because my day job (and several freelance jobs) are in Web development and 70% of my users (per Google Analytics) run on IE 6.

I run Windows so far but am really looking at a MacBook for the next iteration - my main issue to date has been that I need the Adobe suite to do most of my work, and since the office is on Windows, I can run my backup copy on the home machines without paying $2400 for the program on my own dollar. Now that Macs can run Windows software, that's got me moving toward the Mac bandwagon - I do a lot of graphic design work for local companies on the side, so being able to run a Mac would be nice.

I've never been to Second Life but that's more paranoia on my part - I like my marriage and I know I'd get sucked into Second Life too quickly and too terribly. I loved Warren Ellis' reports when he was running them.

As to the CDs, I’m all for staying electronic only. Most of my music collection’s just ethereal at this point to make more room for other stuff in the home office, and pressing CDs seems like another opportunity to hassle each other over whether or not the disc should be white or black. None more black.

For the record – I’m really amazed at the response the Aussie Geeks have given us, literally blown away by both the support and the interest. I think Sir Pent probably assumed that Geekdom included videogames, Dungeons and Dragons, comic books, and Giant Robots rather than tech work, and like Chris I was surprised when I first heard the ‘cast to learn you were interested in talking with us.

From my viewpoint, though, finding the community has already taught me plenty of the things I’ve been interested in learning about. This part of my education has been neglected largely because I couldn’t find people who ... well, are *people* you can talk to, who know enough about it and can explain things in a basic way without talking down to you. I’m in the community for a long, long time now.

Great show as always. Looking forward to next week!
