Because the show came out late this week. Keith had a nightmare job as GarageBand crashed and he had to redo the entire mix in Audacity. I dunno - my Windows machine handles the huge raw file fine Tongue out... Anyway that caused the show to come out late. On top of that Keith is buggered beyond imagining and needs some sleep. Remember that he gets up at 4am or something stoopid to record the show.

I too am pretty buggered as we are still in the middle of extensions and madness, so the small break this week will allow me to breathe... It will be fun to just hang out in the forums and do some blogging and stuff.

All that combined we thought it best to let KD get some sleep and gear up for next week.

BUT we gave you guys a new playground to keep you busy! So hoping that is a fair trade.

@mat88 : What ? Ditch Da Mac ! Are you InSane ! Just because Keith Can't handle Garageband (it baffles me still) does not mean he needs to set the most perfect computer aside to trade it in for some spyware inspected zombie computer running XP (or god forbid that other crap OS)

and i'm not a fanboy

I am not sure this comment is even worthy of a response, so i won't give one.

Do we always have to choose either? I have both (an iMac and a PC) and I am happy with both. I still see no benefit in installing Vista, but that's besides the point. The second thing is that PC != Windows.
If creating a great podcast is the only thing you're doing on your PC, it's still worth it.

Why would you ditch the mac? I have a MBP and I have both Leopard and XP (bootcamp) installed on here. I occasionally get the mac screen of death, but thats only when I unplug my Mbox while the computer is in the process of shutting down. I love my mac but I wouldn't call myself a fanboy. Its just the best thing out there for making music and doing my uni stuff.

Pity about no podcast but it will at least give me a chance to catch up on the ones that I haven't listened to because of wonderful uni assignments.

No, keep the mac Keith. Dave's just jealous!

You blokes were just thinking the world was going to end with the large haydron whatsit weren't you, so you wouldn't bother with a podcast! ;)

Anyway, no worries, looking forward to next week. I still have some old GGP's I haven't listened to yet to keep me going! :)

to be honest I'm more of a BSD fanboy but I only fell in love with BSD b/c of NeXT

I'm a Slider , I'm using XP pro , Ubuntu and Leopard on a daily basis. Whatever gets the job done is selected. I must however say I favor Mac hardware cause its so darn reliable, I love working with Linux cause its so damn powerful and I use XP whenever I need to be darn 'interactable" with the other pc users. Whatever works .. goes.

The funny thing is that the Mac hardware is no different to any other hardware. Crysis is really the only thing that makes XP crash and I know what the problem is but I can't fix it. I used linux the other day to find out whether the problem with my PC was the hard drive but it wasn't but yeah.

@zygurt, true, but as Apple choose exactly which components go in a mac they can make sure they play nicely with the OS and vice versa without pissing about with third party drivers etc. And they can also make sure it's nice and shiny, which is the most important thing! :)

There are advantages to being able to mix and match your hardware and there advantages and disadvantages to both approaches.

Crysis puts a massive demand on any system, any number of things could crash it. Big ask for any system and has had a reputation for it.

Having it shiny is a must. ;) I get ACPIEC errors which are apparently from badly designed bios which means 1 of 2 things. Going to Vista would fix the problem, EFI compatibility, or there is a problem with the Bios emulation within BootCamp.

I think microsoft just wants to lock vista in the attic and bring out windows 7 as soon as they can.
